Can you guess what the 2nd C for Confidence would be?
Ā (drum roll)ā¦ā¦..COMMITMENT
Of course, when we commit to something and stick with it we feel better about ourselves.
When you commit to an eating plan and donāt stick to it, how do you feel about yourself?Ā Proud? Probably not.
If you are unsure of what you are mainly committed to these days, I want you to look at two things:
Where you spend your time and money will show you your commitments.Ā If you say you are committed to your marriage but your bank account and calendar donāt reflect much time spent together, doing something for that person or with them in mind, then at least you know where to start!

Still think you can exercise,Ā eat whatever you want AND still lose weight?
Letās take a look at just a few items on the Cheesecake Factory Menu, shall we ;)
Mac & Cheese ā 1,550 calories
Sweet Potato Fries- 1,020 calories
Cobb Salad- 1,570 (not kidding)
And for dessert ā Salted Caramel Cheesecake- 1,220 calories
When I was in my 20ās and first started exercising, I couldnāt understand why I was exercising 3-4 days a week, didnāt change my diet, and I wasnāt losing any weight.Ā I said to myself, āI went from NO exercise to exercising 4 days and I weigh and look the same?āĀ Whatās the dilly?
Well, there are TON of benefits from exercise (I still recommend itJ) but it is not the best for weight loss if you are NOT looking at what you are putting in your mouth.
Letās look at calories burned in exercise:
Walking for 3 miles (estimated 60 1 hr) ā between 195 and 300 calories burned depending on weight
Jogging/running- you will burn the same calories about but in about half the tim...

I couldnāt help but think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (a total classic).
In the movie Dorothy was trying to run away from her problems.Ā She was scared, didnāt know what to do, felt unloved and misunderstood, and decided to run away from home.Ā
Sound familiar?Ā
Okay, maybe not the actual ārunning away from homeā part but how often do you find yourself running away from a problem?
Unlike Dorothyās story in the Wizard of OZ, running away to us can look like not dealing with the issue and just doing nothing. We think if we donāt focus on it, it will just go away.Ā So, we stop thinking about how much we feel off-purpose, disengaged, unfulfilled, unchallenged, and frustrated and we start doing POSITIVE SELF-TALK.Ā
Which may sound like:

I believe I just turned 20 years old.Ā I was making between $10-$12/hour and the minimum wage back then was $5.15/hr. Ā This wasnāt too shabby for someone who was still in college and lived in a smaller town.Ā I worked at a local hospital in the ER as a Registrar. I remember having a goal to make more money and deciding to apply for jobs where I could make more money.
