I couldn’t help but think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (a total classic).
In the movie Dorothy was trying to run away from her problems. She was scared, didn’t know what to do, felt unloved and misunderstood, and decided to run away from home.Â
Sound familiar?Â
Okay, maybe not the actual “running away from home” part but how often do you find yourself running away from a problem?
Unlike Dorothy’s story in the Wizard of OZ, running away to us can look like not dealing with the issue and just doing nothing. We think if we don’t focus on it, it will just go away. So, we stop thinking about how much we feel off-purpose, disengaged, unfulfilled, unchallenged, and frustrated and we start doing POSITIVE SELF-TALK.Â
