Iām not sure about you but āwatching tv is badā is definitely a belief I grew up with.Ā
Did it mean that I didnāt watch TV?Ā No, it just meant I harbored a little guilt if I watched it too much or too often.
Television is a great distraction and when used strategically, it can really help you.
Many times, we get caught up in trying to āfixā or āsolveā our problems or challenges.Ā Maybe we are unsure of which direction to take or how we should respond to this person or that situation.
My whole life I felt pretty good about being a problem solver until I realized I was just really good at pushing my way through a situation and āmaking the outcome I wanted happenā.Ā It took me a few health challenges to finally realize that wasnāt a way that was really serving me well.
What do you do when you are faced with a problem or decision that you have to make, and you donāt know what to do?
Is your approach logical, emotional, communal, spiritual, etc.?
Maybe, you make a list of pros and co...

A couple weeks ago I brought up Graziosiās āThe 4 Cās of Confidenceā from his book Millionaire Success Habits and shared with you the first C which is COURAGE. If you are interested in reading more about that post, you can find it here

Ā (drum roll)ā¦ā¦..COMMITMENT
Of course, when we commit to something and stick with it we feel better about ourselves.
When you commit to an eating plan and donāt stick to it, how do you feel about yourself?Ā Proud? Probably not.
If you are unsure of what you are mainly committed to these days, I want you to look at two things:
Where you spend your time and money will show you your commitments.Ā If you say you are committed to your marriage but your bank account and calendar donāt reflect much time spent together, doing something for that person or with them in mind, then at least you know where to start!
I am totally committed to my health and to personal ...
I had the opportunity to see this hot air balloon near my neighborhood this past weekend.Ā
SUPER colorful and SUPER beautiful!
I couldnāt help but think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz (a total classic).
In the movie Dorothy was trying to run away from her problems.Ā She was scared, didnāt know what to do, felt unloved and misunderstood, and decided to run away from home.Ā
Sound familiar?Ā
Okay, maybe not the actual ārunning away from homeā part but how often do you find yourself running away from a problem?
Unlike Dorothyās story in the Wizard of OZ, running away to us can look like not dealing with the issue and just doing nothing. We think if we donāt focus on it, it will just go away.Ā So, we stop thinking about how much we feel off-purpose, disengaged, unfulfilled, unchallenged, and frustrated and we start doing POSITIVE SELF-TALK.Ā
Which may sound like:
What do Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, Ghandi, Helen Keller, Victor Frankl, and Jesus Christ ALL have in common?
Now, if you are thinking, āwell, I am no Jesusā, I get it!Ā BUTā¦ā¦many of the other amazing stories about people with courage throughout history werenāt Jesus either. They were just ordinary people who decided to be courageous.
I remember a time when I felt pretty courageousā¦ā¦ā¦..
I believe I just turned 20 years old.Ā I was making between $10-$12/hour and the minimum wage back then was $5.15/hr. Ā This wasnāt too shabby for someone who was still in college and lived in a smaller town.Ā I worked at a local hospital in the ER as a Registrar. I remember having a goal to make more money and deciding to apply for jobs where I could make more money.
After applying to a couple jobs, I got a call fairly quickly from a company where I would be doing sales.Ā I was told I had a draw of $4,000 a month so compared to what I was making, that was great! I had no doubt that I would ...
