Iâm not sure about you but âwatching tv is badâ is definitely a belief I grew up with.Â
Did it mean that I didnât watch TV? No, it just meant I harbored a little guilt if I watched it too much or too often.
Television is a great distraction and when used strategically, it can really help you.
Many times, we get caught up in trying to âfixâ or âsolveâ our problems or challenges. Maybe we are unsure of which direction to take or how we should respond to this person or that situation.
My whole life I felt pretty good about being a problem solver until I realized I was just really good at pushing my way through a situation and âmaking the outcome I wanted happenâ. It took me a few health challenges to finally realize that wasnât a way that was really serving me well.
What do you do when you are faced with a problem or decision that you have to make, and you donât know what to do?
Is your approach logical, emotional, communal, spiritual, etc.?
Maybe, you make a list of pros and co...
So, Do Vision Boards Really Work?
NOT ALWAYS!
That is, if you think you can just put together some images and words on a poster board or canvas and store it away â NOPE, it probably wonât do much in that case.
Iâve had people tell me that their vision board was fun to make but it never did anything for them.
Itâs TRUE, if you donât do anything with it, it wonât work!
Vision boards are a great tool to help:
- Keep you focused on what you want
- Keep you on track with your goals
- Bring your attention back to what you really want to create
I remember putting together my first board when I was in my 20âs.

I recently joined the gym (itâs been YEARS) and today, I decided I was going to walk the treadmill and do some weight training.
When I got there this morning, the weight lifting area was pretty empty â I thought to myself, thank God!
After 45 minutes WALKING on the treadmill, I headed to the weight area.
I immediately felt PANICâŚâŚ.
There were people in there (IMAGINE THAT)!
They were young, fit, attractiveâŚ.
Oh crap! What do I do? A voice inside said, just go home and lift weights at home. Another voice said, girl, you got in the car and drove here for this, so do it!
What you may not know about me is that going to the gym in my 20âs was the normâŚ..I used to be certified in fitness/personal training and I was not afraid to work out.
Today, âSHEâ showed up with me.
You know her.
That voice.
She said to me,...
